Free 24-hour overnight rest area on the Stuart Highway about 30km north of Alice Springs, built around the landmark Tropic of Capricorn marker where everyone stops for the classic photo. The NT Government lists it as allowing overnight camping, with a toilet, BBQ, sheltered picnic tables and a water supply. Convenient last stop before rolling into Alice or first camp heading north.
