Official Main Roads WA 24-hour rest area on the banks of the De Grey River, 82km northeast of Port Hedland on the Great Northern Highway toward Broome. Toilets and an effluent dump point, with shady riverbank parking that makes it the classic overnight break on the Port Hedland to Broome leg. Free, 24 hours maximum; this is estuarine crocodile country, so stay well clear of the water and do not swim.
