Free, grassy alpine campground at about 1,300m beside a historic gold-mining dam in the Bago State Forest, between Batlow and Tumbarumba orchard country. Basic bush camp with pit toilets and no drinking water; kayaking, trout fishing and platypus-spotting on the dam, but no powerboats. Nights get seriously cold outside summer, so pack warm layers.
