Historic Stuart Highway rest stop about 72km north of Tennant Creek, at the point where explorer John McDouall Stuart turned back in 1860; a memorial marks the spot. The NT Government permits 24-hour overnight camping here, with BBQs, picnic tables, water supply, shelters and a toilet on a well-laid-out bitumen area. A reliable free break on the long Katherine to Tennant Creek run.
