Jobs

What Matey checks

• Duplicates: the same job posted on several sites shows once. We keep the most useful copy (with pay, from the direct source) and hide the rest.
• Visa tags: every job is checked against the specified work industries and the regional postcode list. The 417 and 462 chips and "Counts for 88 days" only show when both pass. If we can't pin down the postcode, we say so.
• Human moderation: every report on a listing is read by a person at Matey, and dodgy listings come down.

What we do not do

• We do not check every employer on the Australian Business Register (ABR) today.
• Jobs imported from other job sites are not individually checked by a person.
• We are not Home Affairs. Our visa tags are a guide, not a decision about your visa.

What you should do

• Look up the employer's ABN on abr.business.gov.au
• Never pay for a job. A real employer never charges you to start.
• Keep every payslip. You need them to prove your 88 days.
• Confirm the exact postcode before you start. The 88 days explained
