35 horticultural workers are required from December for nine months across properties in Hay Valley and Lake Plains, South Australia. Workers must be available to work 5-7 days per week. Hours of work will vary daily, depending on harvest requirements, averaging 30 hours per week. This work is outdoors in various weather conditions and involves picking, planting, packing and general crop management of Brussel Sprouts and carrots. Wages will be under the Horticultural Award 2020 paid at the Level 1 casual hourly award rate ($32.18 per hour). Workers must be available for the full duration. You will need reliable transport. It is essential that you are able to work flexible hours as rosters will vary. You must be reliable and committed and have the ability to work quickly and accurately. Due to the high physical demands of these positions, workers will need to be physically fit and self-motivated. You may be on your feet for extended periods and required to perform repetitive manual tasks.
