Apiarist

Outback Honey is an Australian owned and operated apiary located in Dubbo New South Wales. It produces Australian certified organic honey.

The business is now offering a full time position to candidates with the necessary skilled experience. The candidates must provide evidence of at least three years’ skilled experience working as an apiarist/beekeeper.

The duties of the position include:

Breeding and raising queen bees; Monitoring and maintaining the health and condition of the bees; Checking and re-queening bee hives regularly; Providing and maintaining appropriate nutritional environment; Producing, harvesting and extracting honey/honeycomb; Royal Jelly, Pollen, Bees was and propolis production; Planning and organising for brood nest management operation; Inspecting bee sites for good breeding condition and honey production; Coordinating farmers for pollination services; Destroying superfluous queen bee cells to prevent division of colony by swarming.
